Having posted some articles recently to my reading list, the feed is at the bottom of our site. I have taken snippets from some of them and going to add my comments at the end. Be sure to have a read through the articles in full if you can!
Article 1 - Marketing Basics for the Small Business, written by Laura Lake
“By being diligent in your marketing and creating an easy strategy such as holding yourself accountable to contact ten customers or potential customers daily five days a week you will see your business grow at an exceptional rate. The great thing is it will not take a large marketing budget to make it happen.”
Article 2 – Launch a Business, Not a Side Project, written by Ryan Carson
“The most important piece of advice I’m trying to communicate is that you need to prepare for the huge amount of time it’s going to take after you launch to make your app succeed. Of course you need to believe it’s going to kick ass, but make sure you’ve got a plan for making that happen. It might take several years of work to really make your web app a success, so be prepared.”
Article 3 – What To Look For In A Co-Founder, written by Collis Ta’eed
“Finding co-founders means making a lot of big decisions. Go with your instincts about people, take the time to ask them what they are after and ask yourself if you complement each other in skills and personality. And remember you’re going to be stuck with these people for a long time to come, so choose nice people that make you happy!”
My View
For me, articles 1 and 2 share some common ground. Although not directly related, there are some key points that come to fruition; the need for time, planning, strategy, persistence and belief. Although these points alone won’t decide the fate of a project or business, I believe they can have a huge impact.
While the points raised in articles 1 and 2 can get the inspirational juices flowing, it is most likely there will be some stress filled moments along the way. This is where article 3 comes in, choosing the right people around you can help achieve your targets and relieve stress in those hairy moments.
